Pre-Procedure Instructions:
Hydrate, drink plenty of water day before and day of procedure to ensure adequate blood volume for blood draw.
Wear clothing to allow ease of access to injection sites.

Hold NSAIDS 3 days prior to appointment, including: Motrin (ibuprofen), Aleve (Naproxen), Mobic (Meloxicam), Celebrex (Celecoxib), Voltaren (Diclofenac), and Bayer (Aspirin). PRP causes inflammatory response in the body which is part of the healing process, and we do not want anti-inflammatories to hinder this process.

You can take Acetaminophen/Tylenol for discomfort.

Hold anti-coagulants accordingly. You will be given specific instructions prior. We will contact your prescribing provider, who can provide a written clearance letter permitting you to hold anti-coagulants, as requested per guidelines.

Eat healthy during the prior week to ensure abundant and platelet rich plasma. Foods to help increase platelet count include leafy greens, salmon, berries, tuna, tomatoes, oranges, kiwis, and any foods that contain omega-3 fatty acid.

Try to get at least 7-8 hours of sleep per night in the days leading up to the procedure.

Avoid excessive amounts of caffeine such as soda, coffee, and tea the day of procedure.

Avoid plasma donations or any therapeutic phlebotomy for at least 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after procedure.
NOTE: Please also have accommodations for children as they will not be allowed in the procedure room. Most of our injections require fluoroscopy, and we do not want them exposed to radiation.
